Free Ringtones FYI - Free Cool Ringtones

Time to download a couple of Transformers ringtones, yes mp3 ringtones. Goes without saying but I’m referring to Transformers the movie, yup, the one Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg put together. The story goes, a war re-erupts on Earth between two robotic clans, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons…you get the idea. I grew up watching the Transformers cartoon series, ah Optimus, you’re my hero.

By the way, I did not create these, rather, found these Google’ing, which you are welcome and encouraged to do as well. I supposed you could think of me hunting and gathering for you. Don’t forget that you’ll have to side-load these ringtones:

Folks with iPhones who want to side load these Transformers mp3 ringtones, check out, Efiko’s iPhone Ringtone Maker. I downloaded the version that supports iPhone firmware 1.1.3, which is in beta but is fully functional and works beautifully. The software will cost you $15, and believe me when I say that I’m not being paid to say how good it is.

I thought I’d change things up a bit. Probably late in the game to be honest but I wanted to pay homage to the the American and International athletes at the Beijing Olympics. With all the Gold medals USA won and the fact that tomorrow is the last day why not celebrate with the Olympics theme ringtone?

The Olympics Fanfare and theme was originally composed by John Williams in 1984 for the Los Angeles Olympics. John Williams is an awesome composer who was behind Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Superman movie themes.

The Olympic theme ringtone is approximately 20 seconds ripped at a decent ringtone.

A few folks request that I post the mp3 ringtone from the American remake fo the Japanese horror movie One Missed Call. Personally, I think the previous One Missed Call ringtone was spookier and eerier.

The American version of One Missed Call was directed by Eric Valette, starred Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon of 40 days and 40 Nights fame. I have to admit, I passed on this one, so I can’t say much more other than that critics and movie goers agree that it was a second rate remake.

The One Missed Call American version ringtone is supa simplified. It should serve as a decent ringtone but again, if you’re looking for that weird and spooky version, the japanese ringtone is way better.

I’m scared of this horror movie ringtone but it’s worth sharing with you folks. Yes, it is The Grudge ringtone! For those who don’t know, it’s an American remake of a Japanese horror flick called Ju On directed and created by Takashi Shimizu.

The Grudge ringtone is essentially of Kayako Saeki, the main spook in the Japanese horror movie, who is snaptured making a strange croaking noise in an eerie slow death rattle that becomes the trademark of her ghost throughout the film.

Ah, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory the gem that Mel Stuart directed is beyond classic.

I can’t remember 1971, that’s the year it came out in the theaters. What I can tell you, with 100% certainty, is that I had three very different experiences from the movie. The first time I saw it I was 12 and wow, I was mesmerized by the music and colors (at least what I could see cuz I’m color blind) as they were truly spectacular–as you’ll see when you download the Willy Wonka ringtone below. Of course, I too like every other kid in the US, had a love affair with candy so it was euphoria beyond one’s imagination. I wanted to dive into the movie screen and become one of those lucky kids–nice honest and innocent experience, eh?

The second experience, well, I was high…it was fantasy land and I was 15 at my best friends house, we had just got done watching Mash–what a trip. I figured, hey, let’s throw Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory up there! next thing I know, I’m coasting through the psychedelic universe that Gene Wilder and the other cast and crew brought to us. Oh yeah!

Ok so, the third experience was when I turned 29 and realized, sheesh, this movie wasn’t meant for kids, yet it was. How’d they do that? I just went through a sitting and yes I realized I need to post a Willy Wonka ringtone…it’s got to be a ringtone that’s memorable yet freakin’ awesome!

We all have a dark side to us and that alter ego culminates into a desire for some cool arse horror movie ringtones. And, yeah, sometimes we’ve gotta import some of the good horro ringtone stuff from across the pond and beyond. In this case the far east.

Chakushin Ari or in the USA, One Missed Call comes to mind. The original Japanese horror movie version of One Missed Call was directed by Takashi Miike, which in my opinion is the better version. Awesome j horror movie, I highly recommend the Japanese version as it is very good.

Anyway, One Missed Call has this spooky ringtone based on a song called Melody of Death, when you receive a call and hear the One Missed Call ringtone, you’re essentially receiving a voicemail message from your future self. Well what happens afterwards is just crazy, but good fun j horror. The One Missed Call ringtone is one you absolutely have to throw onto your mobile phone or iPhone.

Harrison Ford is still truckin’ and the dynamic duo Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are at it again with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I’ll admit, I haven’t seen the movie but I’ve nabbed the Indiana Jones Raider’s March theme composed by John Williams before and while Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is new, the Raider’s March ringtone is cool as ever.

I ripped and sliced the Indiana Jones ringtone down slightly under 20 seconds and kept the bit rate up so you folks with iPhones and some decent mobile phones can enjoy John Williams’ composition at its best. The Indiana Jones mp3 ringtone sounds really good. If you haven’t seen the movie, let’s hope we see it on DVD soon, eh? I don’t have to remind you all but the Indiana Jones ringtone needs to be side loaded using a ringtone composer. All you have to do is right-click on the file and then select “Save Target As” to drop it onto your desktop. iPhone folks, iPhoneRingtoneMaker is a great choice to throw this puppy onto your iPhone for free!

We haven’t done a movie ringtone in awhile so I thought it’d be nice to share a classic, the Superman ringtone. This latest ringtone is shortened from the main movie theme from the original Superman movie directed by Richard Donner. The Superman movie was released in 1978 and starred Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. It was my first ever theater experience, yes Superman rocked!

Unlike other Superman ringtones available out there, this ringtone is really free. The Superman ringtone is an awesome mp3 track with it’s natural crescendo, the quality is pretty good and you should be able to side load the mp3 ringtone file to your cell phone or mobile device. Leave It To Beaver, starring the Cleavers as the quintessential 1950’s ‘All-American Family’ that spread whole ton of ‘feel-good’ across the US.

Ward and June Cleaver, and older brother Wally, try to keep Theodore (’the Beaver’) out of trouble. Yet, somehow, Beaver, played by Jerry Mathers, always seems to get caught up in some type of mischief or trips over himself, constantly. Every predicament seems to be resolved in some amicable way where Beaver, and his audience, are let off the hook with a very strong moralistic words of parental advice.

The Leave It To Beaver ringtone is in fact the theme song to the show and has been ripped in mp3 format. The original score was written and performed by Mort Green who reprises his score for a TV commercial for America On-Line broadband service back in 2003.

Ok, so this particularly Kill Bill ringtone (compared to our previous Kill Bill Ringtones">Kill Bill Ringtone) is actually a television theme from the classic tv series, Ironside. My man Quincy Jones kicked this track into gear, with some funk. Tarentino decided to use it in a scene and it’s so awesome as a ringtone that I had to share it with you all.

Starring Raymond Burr, the show actually aired as The Man Called Ironside, which ran from 1967 until 1975. The creator Collier Young, died in a road accident, was also Behind Wild Wild West, another favorite classic television series.

The Ironside ringtone hits you hard with some whacky horns, it does however simmer down to a nice crescendo but why go there? We want to grab people’s attention with our ringtones, right? So Quincy Jones composed this sweet track which is now our Kill Bill ringtone.
