Here is a small piece of telephone horror history that most people overlook. When William Castle rigged theater seats to buzz during The Tingler in 1959, he understood something important: the best horror is the kind that reaches into your actual life. A ringing phone does exactly that. It is ordinary until it is not. That tension, the moment before you answer, is what every track in this drop is built around.
August is the sweet spot. Summer is almost gone, the first cool nights are arriving, and the horror season is quietly loading. This felt like the right moment to release something that sits in that in-between place, not full Halloween yet, just the first whisper of it.

We made six original pieces for this drop, all instrumental compositions inspired by the mood of late-night calls and things that should not be calling you back.
Ringtones
- Static on the Line: a slow-building synth tone that starts with genuine telephone static before opening into a minor-key pulse. Long enough to feel like suspense, short enough to actually work as a ringtone.
- Wrong Number Waltz: unsettling three-four time, plucked strings over a low synth drone. It sounds almost polite, which is the point.
- Rotary Ghost: inspired by the mechanical rhythm of an old rotary dial, this one loops a clicking, haunted-carousel figure in a dark synth arrangement. The rotary telephone was actually a huge plot device in horror radio dramas of the 1940s, and we wanted to nod to that lineage.
- The Callback: pure dread. A single sustained tone descends chromatically over twenty seconds while a distant processed voice-like synth (no words, just shape) rises underneath. This one is for people who want their phone to genuinely alarm whoever is nearby when it rings.
Notification Sounds
- One Ring, Run: a single ascending synth sting with a tiny horror-movie sting tail. Two seconds, maximum effect, honestly free.
- Voicemail From Nowhere: a short comedic take on the horror phone call idea. It opens with a cheerful retro telephone bleep and then cuts immediately to total silence and a single low bass hit. People in the office will look up.
