The communication between the scientists and the mothership turns out to be an awesome ringtone, the Close Encounters of the Third Kind ringtone! The entire movie score was composed and arranged by John Williams and this track is actually called "Wild Signals" and the ringtone skips the iniatial build up, cuts to the chase so that it makes for a proper ringtone.
It's not often you run through your list of mp3 ringtones and find a classic. I seem to everytime, first with the Star Trek ringtone but now with the main theme from the hit television show Batman! The Batman ringtone is free to download and is the original score Neal Hefti composed and performed with his orchestra. To this day the Batman theme blows me away in its simple yet unique way.
Wow, I got lucky, went out to FYE and found Star Trek Volume 3 on CD and used! Guess what was on that sucker? Yes, the 50 second version of the Star Trek main theme from the classic science fiction series with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to name a few.
Selecting ringtones is difficult enough at it is, so we thought we'd reach into the past and nab the opening of Chariots of Fire, composed by new-age artist Vangelis. Enjoy the Lost In Space science fiction television show on your cellphone that launched the imagination of many children. The ringtones are of the robot and are of decent quality, in mp3 format and should be easy to sideload to your cellphone. Just make sure you have a cellphone that supports mp3 ringtones.
As we gear up for J.J. Abrams rendition of Star Trek, I thought it would be nice to share a piece of history. Yes! The original Star Trek communicator sound in mp3 format.
