Back in 1977, Steven Spielberg dropped the extra-terrestrial bomb on us with Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The movie which starred Richard Dreyfus and Teri Garr was a science fiction mega hit but it was so much more than that. It was a sign of things to come, Star Wars, Superman, etc.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind depicts an ordinary person (played by Dreyfus), like you or me, who encounters a UFO and is drawn to an isolated area where something amazing will happen. Eventually, something does and an ordinary guy is at the center of it all.
Anyhow, the best part of the movie is the human and extra-terrestrial handshake where the super duper synthesizers used by scientists are used to communicate with the mothership. The musical communication between the scientists and the mother ship turns out to be an awesome mp3 ringtone, the Close Encounters of the Third Kind ringtone! The entire movie score was composed and arranged by John Williams and this track is actually called “Wild Signals.” The Close Encounters of the Third Kind ringtone skips to the initial build up, cuts to the chase so that it makes for a proper ringtone. Oh and remember it’s a FREE ringtone.
